The exhibition presents Šaleška dolina valley from the first written documents dating from the 12th century until the end of the 17th century at the time of a decline of the Middle Age society.
The exhibition is divided in three parts: ecclesiastic, aristocratic and peasant. In the first part the accent is on Romanic presbytery, three late Gothic statues, sacral vessels, the original frescoes from the Švarcenštajn castle and the reconstruction of the stone altar St. Jošt from Paški Kozjak.
The second part of the exhibition displays a smokehouse, the living environment of peasants. Exhibited small objects - archeological finds discovered in the castles Šalek and Kacenštajn are extremely valuable.
