The collection encompasses the period between 1945 and 1960 when Velenje started getting its new form.

A small rural borough underneath the Velenje castle converted to a contemporary, organized, modern town, so called "socialist miracle". This was the time of voluntary work and increasing prosperity of Velenje coalmine that enabled the growth of the town.
