In addition to the Metaverse exhibition at the DFC, a selection of the work of the Austrian media artist Burst can be seen at the Francisco Carolinum. Works are on display from his beginnings in crypto art in 2019 to his current works in which he combines digital and physical worlds with AR and AI technology.
In addition to paintings that come to life on the mobile phone display, interactive installations that invite visitors to play with the artificial intelligence he has trained or to view their own reflection in the mirror as a work of art in burst style, there are also some sculptures on display that were made from everyday objects and bring the Haha concept into the physical world.
The exhibition not only reflects Burst’s artistic evolution but also highlights the increasingly fluid boundaries between reality and virtuality. By playfully exploring themes such as identity, authorship, and perception, Burst challenges visitors to reconsider their relationship with technology and the role of the artist in a digitized society.
