Robilant+Voena is pleased to announce an exhibition of artworks by Italian artist and architect Vincenzo De Cotiis, whose practice blends archaic idioms with futuristic expressions.

Using recovered and industrial materials to give life to otherworldly forms that synthesise the parallels of time and space, cultural layerings and great leaps into the unknown.

The artworks belong to De Cotiis' Archaeology of Consciousness, a body of work first shown in Milan in 2023, that offers contemporary reinterpretations of the timeless concept of the archway. As symbols of architectural innovation since antiquity, arches and gateways stimulate memories of Roman ingenuity and Renaissance idealism, yet De Cotiis deconstructs their implied contexts and re-evaluates their vaulted forms in a new light.
