The exposition presents a total of 450 exhibits.

The exhibition consists of four sections: avant-garde, Stalin’s empire style, 1960-1980s and contemporary design. There are mass produced articles on display as well as mockups, sketches, drawings, reconstructions of projects that were never put into life, conceptual designs from the Moscow Design Museum’s collections, private collectors and leading Moscow museums. Many of the exhibits are displayed for the first time.

The rich history and culture of our country, national color, folk trades, handicrafts, Russian avant-garde, Soviet past with its historical epochs and motifs are increasingly becoming a source of inspiration for designers. The exposition includes over 60 items indicating the connection of epochs and comprehension of the past in Russian design, the search for a visual cultural code and national identity.

An educational and tour program has been drawn up for the exhibition during the Russian Creative Week forum.
