At a time of year when there is not a lot going on in terms of notable art exhibits around town, Bill Thomson of Bitfactory gallery decided to create an early-year splash by curating a show featuring his own favorite artists. With a wink, he named it “No Show” and went about inviting Colorado-based creatives whose work he enjoys and admires. His gallery is proud to present the 4th Annual “No Show” exhibit running January 17 through March 12, 2020, with an opening reception on January 17, 2020, 6 to 9 p.m. at 851 Santa Fe Drive in Denver. Visitors will be treated to some larger works that, due to their size are difficult show elsewhere.

Bitfactory is also excited to announce a new partnership with Bonacquisti Wine Company in which they will be selling wine to patrons during the popular First Friday Art Walk on Santa Fe Drive. “Colorado wineries are allowed to have five outside tasting rooms, either temporary or permanent, as long as they pull a permit that allows that business to sell wine on their behalf,” says vintner owner Paul Bonacquisti. “We are excited to have a presence on the Art District again after a long stint selling through another gallery that closed several years ago.” The winery creates award-winning local Colorado, regional and international wines in a funky industrial condo in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Denver. Bitfactory jumps at the chance to support other local businesses and looks forward to offering another reason to stop by the gallery on First Friday. If you don’t see wine sales during the January 3rd art walk, stop in for a glass on February 7th and beyond.

Some of the artists have shown at the gallery in the past or are slated for future shows but the common denominator is that they have high quality, well-received work that presents well for this exhibition. Lummus, Tommy Nahulu, Tuke One, Jeremy Patlen, Kirah Perle, Gracey Ripa, Mark Risius, Raphael Sanchez, Ira Sherman, W. Max Thomason, Michelle Tomes, Louis Trujillo, Jeff Velarde, and Lea Wagner.

Curator Bill Thomason is a Denver based artist that works in the natural-realism, abstract and sometimes pop genres. He studied at the Community College of Denver/Metropolitan State University/University of Colorado Denver from 1990-1996 under Amy Métier at Metropolitan State University of Denver and University of Colorado Denver. The greatest influence on his early painting years were the Fauvists of the early 1900's and the realists of the 1960s and '70s. He’s participated in multiple group and solo exhibits to date in Colorado, Louisiana, Florida, New York, and Austria. His artwork was also used as the album cover for the Carolyn’s Mother album Fridays and other small tragedies, released in 1995.
