Lora Schlesinger Gallery is proud to present New DepARTures, Carlo Marcucci’s third solo exhibition with the gallery. Marcucci’s latest body of work is a collection of experiments, extensions [of previous works], and new directions.
With this exhibition, Marcucci expresses the variety of style embodied in his work by displaying disparate works and ideas together rather than present a singular theme. By revisiting past concepts and diverging into new trajectories, Marcucci hopes to impress upon the viewer the extensive experimentation that is necessary to the creative process, which requires patience and flexibility in order to find the right balance and course.
Carlo Marcucci was born in Italy. In 1986, he earned a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, notably at the Museum of Art and History (MOAH), Lancaster, CA, the Museum of Arts & Design, New York, NY, and the UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, Tokyo, Japan.
