Fresh Window Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition entitled The Deceptive Everyday with works by artists Jeff Feld, Magdalen Wong, and Christine Zufferey.

This exhibition aims to examine everyday objects beyond their utilitarian purposes and see their deceptive and extraordinary nature. Feld’s Totems, created by used and found broomsticks, play on the tropes of traditional sculpture - a form presented upon a pedestal and their singular column echoes iconic totems that marked significant events, people and places. Wong collected plastic flowers all around the world, studied them and giving them a scientific classification through a new botanical nomenclature.

Zufferey’s work depicts Everyday objects with subtle distortions and disturbances on multiple levels. Different aspects of the complexity of our reality are being disassembled, fed back and forth, and reassembled in new constellations.
