The memorial exhibition of a prominent figure of Lithuanian national revival, a member of the Aušrininkai movement and the first burgomaster of Palanga, Jonas Šliūpas (1861–1944), is set up in the house where he lived from the early 1930s until 1944.
The exhibition presents the key facts of Šliūpas’s life and activity along with photographs reflecting the key moments of his political activity. The interior of an intellectual’s home of interwar Lithuania is restored in Šliūpas’s studio and living room.
Another part of the exhibition is dedicated to the history of Lithuanian national movement of the late 19th – early 20th century, the Lithuanian press and the city of Palanga.
