The exhibition From Amber to the stars. Together with M. K. Čiurlionis: now and then will take a fresh look at the achievements and interests of Čiurlionis through the connections that he made between the sea and the cosmos.
It will bring together his most significant works, showing them alongside those of his contemporaries, and will take us up to the present day with the inclusion of work by artists practicing today, most particularly those who continue to engage with these two key themes. The exhibition will also consider the importance of science in underpinning much of the creativity of the time, and the inspiration that it has gone on to provide for artists world over.
