The Russian Museum holds vast and various collections of Nizhny Novgorod folk art of the 18th – 21st centuries, from ceramics to gold embroidery, woodcarving for architecture (including fully-carved gables), and one-of-a-kind folk costumes.
The exhibition consisting of over 500 objects from the collection of the Russian Museum amasses impressive handiwork by artisans of the Nizhny Novgorod Region which has never been displayed before in such a comprehensive way.
The display will include unique pieces of Khokhloma and Gorodets painting, metalware (including decorative locks and bells), women's costumes, wooden toys, and ceramic ware from the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
