Bruno was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As the older of four siblings, he learned about the sense of responsibility and true love. He is a radical fan of anything his siblings do.

Growing up on the outskirts of Buenos Aires city, one of his favorite things as a kid was taking the train to Constitution Station with his grandmother and then the Line A subway, where the old wood wagons with semi-automatic doors mesmerized him. They would usually wind down in an old coffee shop after a day walking in the city. They would sit at a table next to a window and order an Argentinian classic: café con leche and medialunas (some sort of latte and sweet croissants).

But his palate was initially developed by his other grandmother, Doris, who had a special hand for pasta and cakes. She never used a measuring cup and always had a Tupperware full of food ready for him to take. A Sunday celebration would include a spectrum of dishes, such as empanadas for entrée, ricotta cannelloni with white sauce as main, and lemon pie as dessert. Everything was handmade. Once the table was clean right after finishing lunch, she would bring pastries and mate. Her food fests could last 4 to 5 hours.

Sports have been a constant throughout his life. He is a skilled tennis player and a Boca Juniors soccer club fan. One of the highlights of his life was seeing Argentina win the 2022 soccer World Cup. He hasn’t missed one single summer Olympic Games coverage and considers himself an expert when it comes to Argentina’s participation in it.

He initially began his studies at the University of Buenos Aires’ med school, but shortly after, he decided that dietetics was a better fit for him. There he learned about the human body, culinary techniques, public health and the world of sports nutrition. Sports were his primary area of interest, and he focused his studies on exercise physiology and nutrition.

While completing his university degree, he moved to Buenos Aires City and became a flight attendant. His passion for travel and connecting with people met while he worked at the Buenos Aires local airport.

His life made a turn at 30 years old. Shortly after graduating as a dietitian, he moved to Canada. Unable to feel at home again and without the means to validate his dietetics license, he endured a nomad lifestyle. To date, he has lived in Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto.

It was Montreal who captivated his heart. The city’s European style and its resemblance to Buenos Aires gave him hope that it was possible to build a home far from home. Montreal's gastronomic scene opened his eyes to the diversity of foods the world has. He spent most of his time trying a new coffee shop, restaurant or his latest obsession: speakeasy bars.

With such an extensive background in dietetics, sports, travel and a good hand for writing in 2020, he decided to convey all his passions on paper. He recently graduated as a multimedia journalist and creative writer at the University of Toronto and contributes to writing sports and science articles at The Varsity newspaper.

Living a life with no frontiers, he temporarily returned to Toronto with the love of his life, Ana Carolina. Together, they travel the world and share their passion for food, as two Tauruses could do best. In their house, they always found a small little space for one more book, one more plant.

Now holding dual citizenship, Bruno brings his vibrant Latino cultural background to everything he pursues. Drinking mate while improvising French sentences or letting his Spanish accent take over his speech, he is always exploring new storytelling horizons.
