Unform Studio’s A different kind of future exhibition imagines the designs of a future foretold, but never realized, by the forward-looking and optimistic design movements of the Space Age. The studio’s two new collections on view at SaloneSatellite 2025, including the studio’s entry into lighting, are linked by a shared materiality and forward-thinking design, marrying highly polished stainless steel with sharp edges as well as soft forms and details, providing a strong contrast that brings life within each piece. Shown together in a baby blue exhibition space, both collections invite the viewer to experience the luxury of a different future.
While the collections share a retro-futuristic design aesthetic, Unform Studio brings a level of luxury and warmth only achievable by combining modern precision methods with high-quality materials and traditional hand-crafted techniques.
These pieces don’t speak of a cold automated future devoid of the human touch, but of one that prizes the warmth of the hand and the honesty of materials, equally prioritizing form as well as provenance. Like previous collections showcased by Unform Studio, lead designer Ryan Twardzik seeks to draw people in by creating pieces that are irresistible to the touch.
