As part of the Getty’s PST program, bG Gallery is pleased to present Discoveries, an exhibition featuring innovative works from contemporary artists whose creations are influenced by scientific advancements and technological innovations. They celebrate human ingenuity and technological progress while provoking critical reflections on the intersections of the human body with technology, climate change, and environmental sustainability.

The exhibition includes works by Ibuki Kuramochi, Harshit Agrawal, Susan Moss, Gay Summer Rick, Alison Woods, Philip Vaughan, Jack Reilly and Gregory Horndeski. Discoveries honors technological progress and also challenges viewers to consider its broader implications. Through this dialogue, the exhibition underscores the potential of art to inspire and inform, making it a transformative experience for all attendees.

Gay Summer Rick’s paintings explore aviation navigation technology and its relationship to LA's coastal environment. Susan Moss addresses climate change science through her sweeping abstractions. Ibuki Kuramochi explores post-feminist concepts through technology and performance art, while Alison Woods utilizes data visualization in her creations. Philip Vaughan incorporates neon innovation and engineering principles into his dynamic sculptures, and Gregory Horndeski delves into breakthrough theories in theoretical physics.

The exhibition runs from November 16 to December 2, 2024, at bG Gallery, located at Bergamot Station, 2525 Michigan Avenue, Space A2, Santa Monica, CA 90404. The gallery is open from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, and admission is free and open to the public.
