bG Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by acclaimed artist Barbara Kolo, titled Elusion, running from December 3rd to December 10th, 2024.

Known for her delicate and contemplative approach to abstract art, Kolo’s new works explore the interplay between nature, repetition, and personal reflection.

Barbara Kolo’s art is deeply influenced by the fractal design of nature and her study of various art movements, including Impressionism, Minimalism, and Aboriginal and Asian art. Her process is rooted in the organic development of each piece, as her intricate patterns of dots, circles, and lines emerge spontaneously on the canvas. These motifs, while seemingly simple, create a complex visual experience that invites viewers into a meditative space.

In this exhibition, Kolo presents her Escape series, where repeated circular lines of dots subtly shift and vary, revealing the imperfections and human touch of the artist’s hand. This series is a study in subtle contrasts of color and tone, producing an illusion of depth that draws the viewer into a private, contemplative world. The rhythmic repetition in her work reflects both the order and chaos found in nature, creating a sense of harmony and introspection.

Barbara Kolo has exhibited widely across the U.S. and internationally, with works held in numerous public and private collections. She is represented by several galleries, including bG Gallery in Santa Monica and Slate Contemporary in Oakland. Her artistic voice, grounded in nature and simplicity, continues to resonate with collectors and art enthusiasts alike.
