Portadores de sentido (Bearers of meaning) features 70 artists from 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean whose works were acquired by the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros (CPPC) between 1990 and 2015.
This project focuses on the dialogues between the collection of contemporary art and other topics such as modern art, colonial art, nineteenth-century traveling artists, and ethnographic objects from the Orinoco River basin.
This allows us to see the artists as analytical and sensitive thinkers of their environment who, together with their works, are bearers of meaning.
