The sculptures department brings together approximately 3600 works from the 16th through the 20th century.
Particularly noteworthy are the museum’s plans and small replicas of Parisian monuments throughout the centuries (a figure of the city of Paris for the Grenelle Fountain, small replicas of the Louis XV equestrian statue for the square with the same name), fragments of royal statues destroyed during the Revolution (such as pieces of the Henry IV equestrian statue based on Jean de Bologne’s model…), statuettes and portraits (busts of "Le Peletier de Saint-Fargeau", "Marat", etc.) as well as a very original set of caricatures (by Dantan).
