This section examines the history of technical construction sets, the possibilities for playing with them and their uses for modelling the architectural and technological world.
Examples serve to illustrate the links between architecture, technology and play.
The exhibition also looks at important social issues, such as the significance of these toys as learning materials. A square with a display of the most important structural elements developed by the pedagogue Friedrich Fröbel, the father of building blocks, leads to the four main rooms of the exhibition, dedicated to wood, ceramic, metal and plastic construction sets.
