THIS month the multi award- winning Gallery Ffin y Parc is pleased to invite you to a major joint art exhibition featuring new works by highly collectable landscape painters Dewi Tudur and Katie Allen. From the snow covered landscapes of Italy to the multi-tonal spring and summers-scapes of North Wales and beyond, these two Welsh artists are back at the Conwy Valley based gallery by popular demand in a joint show from Sunday, November 11 to Wednesday, December 5.
Dewi Tudur was born in Mold in 1957 and lived in Llanrwst for many years working as an art teacher and artist. He is now based in Italy with his family. A limited edition bilingual signed book of his work- ‘Dewi Tudur – Chiaroscuro, Chianti a Choffi’, has also been produced to coincide with his major exhibition of 40 new works. f Speaking about his time in Italy Dewi explained: “Most of these landscapes were inspired by the bitter winters we have here. People believe the weather here is pleasant all year round, but the reality is very different. For two to three months of the year the weather is harsh.”
Gallery owner Ralph Sanders added: “This beautiful and delicate collection is Dewi’s largest show for us to date. The work is incredibly poised and serene.”
Also exhibiting is Swansea based landscape artist Katie Allen. Katie was born in 1967. She is quickly developing an international reputation and has produced 30 new works for this show. Ralph added: “We are very pleased to have a substantial new collection by Katie. Her paintings are meticulous and time-consuming. Joy literally pours from these paintings.”
Of her work Katie explained: “My landscapes are painted in acrylic on dibond which is a thin aluminium board. The paintings reflect the different colour palettes of the seasons, from the rich oranges, reds, gold’s and yellows of autumn, to the vibrant greens and pinks of spring and Summer.”
