In her paintings and drawings Marilù Eustachio reflects on personal experiences as well as thoughts on literature and art. To this day the artist, who was born in Merano (*1934) but lives in Rome, associates the Vinschgau valley with the feeling of home.
In the past year she has approached this home in approximately 70 works on paper. For the first time a selection from the series of the same name will now be shown at Kunst Meran. They are light, fine drawings, which are reduced and focus on the essential, like memories.
Alongside ‘Heimat’ a compilation of works from the last twenty years gives an insight into Eustachio’s wide-ranging oeuvre. It shows the artist’s ever-recurring content and formal themes – of landscape and nature, especially trees and even portraits.
