The Carpathian stag is an important species in the ecosystems of the continental bioregion, not only for the fact that it is a large, impressive animal having a cynegetic importance, but also due to the fact that it is one of the wolf’s main prays.
The wolves feed themselves from stag populations but, at the same time, they provide their “hygienization” as they mostly catch sick, weak animals, contributing in this way through this selection process to maintaining healthy stag populations.
Wolves attack the stags in packs and the latter, mostly adult males, may sometimes strongly defend themselves, and this situation is caught in the diorama.
