Anthony Garratt is one to watch. A young artist in his thirties, he has an incredible amount of ambition, who over the last decade has garnered a lot of critical press; both local & national, from his exterior exhibition-style installations ‘Four’ on the Isles of Tresco & Anglesey, to his most daring project, & winner of the Arts & Small Business award 2017, ‘High & Low’ in the stunning landscape of Snowdonia.

Alongside these large environmental projects, Anthony produces solo shows for his exhibiting galleries, as well as being a visiting lecturer at Newlyn School of Art, one can only describe him as, inexhaustibly creative. Creating his work, mainly outside, Anthony is gripped by the elements, so much so, his work incorporates it; sand, rain, wax, grit, grass, leaves, flowers, to name a few are introduced to his canvas along with layer upon layer of paint.

This latest exhibition will consist of over 30 new & unseen paintings, as Anthony takes us on a journey from the west coast of Cornwall, England, to the southern tip of Spain. In these works Anthony transports to different landscapes, asking us to evaluate our idea of paradise, while also questioning our continued quest for style.
