Cordesa Fine Art is pleased to present, Avalanche, a solo exhibition featuring Adam Friedman. Avalanche will include acrylic paintings and a large scale installation which will continue the dialogue of the mountainous landscapes into the center of the gallery. This body of work serves to question how modern technology and the evolving interface with the Internet filters one’s perception of reality. Avalanche will be on view February 11th - March 8th with a reception for the artist February 11th from 7-9pm.
Striving to present a contemporary perspective on nature, Friedman executes his vivid landscapes with multiple layers of acrylic paint to create the illusion that a filter has been applied to his paintings. Toying with one's perception with color and scale, Friedman encourages the viewer to question the new assimilation of nature and to actively be present as a human being.
Adam Friedman received his Masters of Fine Art from San Francisco Art Institute and currently lives and works in Portland Oregon. His work is in several private collections and in 2016 he received the Project Grant from the Regional Arts and Culture Council, Portland, OR.
