Castor Gallery is pleased to present "Come Fly With Me" a solo show by Pryce Lee. A new development of the artist's signature glass works, the exhibition comprises a fleet of 14 paper planes that appears to have collided into a stream of mirrored surfaces. Individual artworks are uniquely etched by each impact and attributed to an airliner shoot-down incident that has taken place over the last century. "Come Fly With Me" highlights the continual threat to free travel consciously faced by modern day commuters.

Continued in the downstairs portion of the gallery, "Come Fly With Me" switches gears to confront an often forgotten dynamic; the trauma that soldiers experience in combat and what they are left with when reentering society. Fractured cartoon characters painted on military tents represent soldiers' interpretations of their surreal surroundings of Afghanistan and the damage that war can do to them not only physically, but psychologically as well. Within the dark gallery, a single spotlight illuminates a segmented cartoon painting, memorializing the series but also reflecting the isolation of the marred soldier returning from war.

Pryce Lee's work, in its subtle and scarred beauty, reflects our attraction to danger, and the randomness and fragility of life. He experiments with diverse concepts, techniques and media to create visually arresting individual works and large-scale installations that incite social commentary drawn from personal experience and actual events. Both a celebration of life and an acknowledgement of its chaos and unpredictability, Pryce Lee's mirrored works reflect us – destroyed and whole.

Born in England, Pryce Lee lives and works between the UK and New York. His work interchanges between social commentary, personal experience and actual events.

Lee experiments with diverse concepts, techniques and mediums to create visually arresting work that juxtaposes the boundaries and challenges of beauty, life and death.

From single, autonomous pieces to large, site-specific installations, Lees work is centered around space and motion, and provokes individual interpretation.
