Erarta Galleries Hong Kong is proud to present Momentum by inspirational contemporary Russian artist Alexei Lantsev. Lantsev works in different styles and various media, moving warm and gentle pastels easily between portraits and landscapes in mixed techniques.

In this series, Lantsev uses a simple, yet bold palette, carefree brushstrokes and lines to portray various body movements. Viewers can effortlessly feel the dynamic and spirit flowing through each brushstroke on the paper, the immense energy almost makes each individual comes to live.

Lantsev was born in Krasnodar in 1970. Since graduating from the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow (the Russian Academy of Art) in 1996, he has participated in a large number of solo and group exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Lantsev’s works show the influence and continuation of the Russian avant-garde tradition of Vasilii Kandinskii and Kazimir Malevich with the freedom and dynamic of abstract expressiveness.

His work appears in private and public collections in France, Hong Kong, Great Britain, USA, Germany, Israel, Switzerland and Russia, including those of Deutsche Bank, Standard & Poor, Raiffeisen Bank, National Bank of Iceland, Clifford Chance, Novosibirsk Art Museum and Abramtsevo Museum.
