“All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small” are welcomed in our favourite Gallery show ‘Fin, Fur, Feather’. This show will be bright and bold show casing some of our most loveable friends from the animal kingdom. Our two skilled painters Joanne Cope and Helen Thorpe have brought in brand new work for us in their own unique styles. Helen’s work is produced in acrylic with a top gloss coat; she pours the paint from above to create a fluid free motion effect with the paint which blends together beautifully. Different in style to Helen, Joanne uses oil paint with high precision to convincingly show texture in her animal pieces and movement.
We have three wonderful printmakers to showcase also; Adam Oliver, Simon Tozer and Catherine Rayner. Bursting with personality and clever little titles, Adam Oliver’s work will break you out in stitches of laughter and enable you to connect with your inner child. Simon Tozer’s prints on the other hand are kooky and surreal at times drawing on children’s literature and are full of humor. Catherine Rayner’s simply stunning silk screen prints are made in quick soft lines, she is also well known for her work as a children’s illustrator her pieces simply warm the heart.
Our sculptor in bronze for the exhibition Olivia Ferrier, is highly skilled in the way she manipulates the molds. Owls, crows on spades this lady can mold anything; perfect to put in the garden to blend in with nature or show off in your house.
Last but certainly not least, our newest edition to the gallery Zara Merrick creates stitched fabric animals that quite simply come to life in the frame. Her pieces are bright and full of life, making us get excited to look at art again in a new and refreshing way.
