Cecchi de Rossi is an Italian fashion label that seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary design, celebrating the timeless art of leatherworking through exclusive, innovative, and entirely handmade creations. A pioneer in sustainability, the brand is committed to zero-waste practices and eco-friendly production.
The journey began serendipitously in 2008 when designer and founder Tommaso Cecchi de’ Rossi crafted leather bags for his personal use. A chance wine-spilling incident led to the discovery of a natural leather dyeing technique using wine and botanical extracts, which Tommaso patented in 2009. This breakthrough became the foundation of Cecchi de Rossi, officially launched in 2010 with a Spring-Summer collection of wine-treated leather accessories. Since then, the brand has expanded its collections and collaborations, merging technical innovation with traditional craftsmanship, and continually exploring new ways to adapt inherited knowledge to contemporary times.
Tommaso Cecchi de’ Rossi, the creative mind behind the label, grew up immersed in the rustic beauty of the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by his family’s vineyards and centuries-old winemaking traditions. This environment profoundly shaped his artistic vision and approach to craftsmanship.
After earning a degree in Agriculture from the University of Florence, Tommaso refined his skills abroad, working with high-profile companies in the United States, which deepened his interest in creative pursuits. Eventually, he returned to his family’s wine farm in Tuscany, where he combined his agricultural expertise and artistic sensibilities to found Cecchi de Rossi. His creations reflect his deep connection to nature, tradition, and innovation, embodying a distinct blend of heritage and modernity.
