Daniela Silva

Daniela Silva was born in Lisbon in 1987. In 2008, she graduated in Architecture from ULHT-Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies and in 2011 she completed the Master degree in Architecture from the same University, in Lisbon.

Passionate about architecture, photography, travel and with a career markedly multifaceted and international, she worked in France, Japan, Italy and China.

In 2013 she travels to Lille, France with the Leonardo da Vinci scholarship to collaborate with the Office Wonk Architectes. In 2014 travels to Tokyo, Japan to collaborate with the Office Sou Fujimoto Architects in various projects for China, Brazil and Japan. Later in 2014, she traveled to Venice, Italy, to join the New Zealand Pavilion team at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Also in 2014 and 2015 was invited by Architect Tony Van Raat from the University of New Zealand "UNITEC Institute of Technology" to teach in an Architectural Program between this University and Shandong Jianzhou University in Jinan - China.

She often participates in architecture, design and photography competitions. In 2008 won her first prize and again in 2010 and 2011. More recently in 2013, won the 2nd place in the contest Urban Challenges’12 for the rehabilitation of an industrial building, and in 2014 the 1st prize in a photography contest from the Architects Association, titled "Tools" for the cover of the Magazine ba - Boletim Arquitectos.

Currently in Lisbon, she divides her professional activity between practice at an architecture studio while developing the Ph.D. in the field of Digital Architecture, being one of her research interests. She’s also part of the team of the online platform Non Architecture Competition, speaker at several conferences and author of the blog +Arquitecta Irrequieta*.
