Alex Watson is Associate Professor at the School of Arts and Letters, Meiji University (Tokyo, Japan).
Alex is originally from UK. After completing a D.Phil. in English at the University of York and working for the University of Edinburgh and several other institutions, he arrived in Tokyo in 2011.
His research interests include British Romanticism, Marginalia, Paratexts, Gothic Fiction, and Cinema. His recent major publications include British Romanticism in Asia: The Reception, Translation, and Transformation of Romantic Literature in India and East Asia (2019) co-edited with Laurence Williams, and Romantic Marginality: Nation and Empire on the Borders of the Page (2012).
