Samantha Brennan is a screenwriter, journalist, teacher, and author. Originally born in Santa Barbara, California to two chef parents, she spent a few years in Toronto, Canada, until her family decided to settle down in Boston. She has one older sister. Throughout her childhood, she began to develop health issues. She was diagnosed with both chronic asthma and cold urticaria, as well as hearing problems. She was constantly in and out of hospitals and hooked up to nebulizers while her friends would spend their time outside like “normal” children.

However, all those obstacles did not stop her from living her life to the fullest, and her creativity inspired her to push through. Her earliest memory of writing was when she was little and used to create short booklets with her aunt. As she grew up, she developed a passion for all things writing. She loved to create stories in all forms, whether that'd be short stories, poems, chapter books, or novels. Her family always supported her and encouraged her to pursue her writing goals.

Samantha attended the University of Tampa and graduated with a writing major and a film minor. She wrote for the Arts & Entertainment section of her college newspaper and eventually became the co-editor. She wrote opinion pieces, features, and movie reviews. It was during her time in college that she finally found her niche, screenwriting. She had always encountered the problem of wanting to write more, as if too many words were in her mind, but she didn’t know what format was best for her voice. Screenwriting was a way for her to write faster in a shorter amount of time. She finished college with two completed feature screenplays under her belt. She graduated with honors and was awarded the Senior Writing Award. Her senior thesis revolved around cinematic werewolves as metaphors. To this day, she has written over ten features screenplays as well as perspective tv pilots. She enjoys constantly challenging herself. She experiments with all genres, including sci-fi, horror, thriller, action, and drama. She has won multiple screenwriting contests and achieved placements in distinguished film festivals. Her passion for screenwriting led her to two published books on Amazon titled Three Birdz and Growl.

After college, Samantha journeyed to South Korea, where she taught English for four years. During her time there, she taught kindergarten students through high school. She had never been to that side of the world before and was enthused about living abroad. She gained cultural knowledge and expanded her views of the world. She made lifelong friends and had unforgettable experiences. She had planned to live there for at least ten years. However, when the pandemic struck Korea, she decided to come back home. When she returned to Boston, she continued to teach English to adult learners and ended up meeting her husband.

Samantha developed a love for traveling and exploring. She especially loves theme parks, and has been to Disney Hong Kong and Universal Japan, as well as several theme parks across Korea. She has been to over seven different countries with hopes to add more to her list in the future. As a child, Samantha learned Spanish in school and her mom encouraged her to speak Spanish by bringing her to Spanish-speaking countries. She learned how to speak Korean while living abroad and can understand basic Portuguese. She has a love for languages and meeting new people from around the world. There is a whole world out there just waiting for her to explore.

Currently, Samantha enjoys working at different companies and gaining new experiences. Although her schedule can be quite hectic, she excels in any environment she is placed in. Her hobbies include finding unique ways to exercise and writing screenplays. In her free time, she enjoys watching scary movies, listening to music, and cooking. She continues to write screenplays because she believes each screenplay is a stepping stone to becoming a better writer. Inspiration is everywhere and she has pages upon pages of ideas just waiting to be turned into a story. She hopes that one day, her film will end up on the big screen for the world to see.
