Yashika Vahi

Welcome to Meer, dear reader! I’m Yashika Vahi, a passionate and versatile content creator with a love for storytelling and a knack for making tech, philosophy and literature come alive. With over four years of experience in the writing world, I’ve had the pleasure of diving into various genres and mediums, and I’m always excited to tackle new challenges.

My journey began during the COVID lockdown, when the academically gifted kid got into writing and it changed her whole perspective on life. Since a child, I had been bright in a variety of subjects and often did extremely well at tests but when I started writing, I found a crucial part of me hidden within it— my individuality; the things I felt strongly about, the things that disgusted me and the thoughts in my head that were different from that of the world. During this period was when I wrote my first book, “Sparked”, about seven sad and broken teenagers in high school who, destructive in their coping mechanisms, were able to find something of worth in their lives when they were together. Their collective destruction helped them find a common ground and a way out of the abyss they were falling into. If I’m being honest, writing the book did the same thing for me. And well, the little girl who started writing at sixteen has been writing ever since, except with much broader imagination, bigger reach and multiple genres.

This is why I chose to pursue an English major at the University of Waterloo, where I fell head over heels for the power of the written word. This led me to become a Technical Writer & Content Marketer at ArtusAI Workspaces where I was able to develop my love for tech and use my writing skills to craft impactful blogs and informative research papers on artificial intelligence. Whether it was designing compelling visuals or writing engaging social media posts, I learned to thrive under tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and clarity. This role taught me that artificial intelligence wasn’t out for people’s jobs or to take away humankind’s originality but rather how, with its full development, AI could speed up the accomplishment of sustainable development goals put forward by UN and give everyone a fair chance, especially marginalized groups, to succeed in life much more rapidly than was previously thought possible.

But my passion doesn’t stop at tech. I’m also a Creative Writer & Social Media Manager for @yvbooks on Instagram, where I write and promote genres including poetry, YA fiction, fantasy and dark academia. I’ve penned ten books and built a following of over 19k+ on Instagram. The journey of engaging with readers, driving book sales, and getting featured in prestigious publications like the University of Waterloo’s Imprint and Voices 2024 has been incredibly rewarding. Managing an author website and blog on literature and philosophy, along with self-publishing and traditional publishing experiences, has given me a deep appreciation for the creative process and the deep influence of storytelling.

Being the founder of The BiblioMania Society, I’m also actively involved with a community of artists in India, ranging from writers to painters and content creators. This enthusiastic group fuels my creativity and keeps me connected with diverse artistic opinions, which help me retain a connection with readers and writers who understand my vision. We have meets every Saturday where we hold workshops, recite poetries, watch movies or play fun games.

Looking forward, I’m excited about opportunities that allow me to mix my technical expertise with my creative innovations. Whether it’s writing engaging tech features, crafting emotionally compelling stories, or diving into new research areas, I’m ready to bring my skills, enthusiasm, and original thinking to new projects.
