A sports enthusiast, among other things, I was born in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, and have lived there almost my entire life.

I have known I have a passion for writing ever since I was little, as I just loved making up stories in my head, and then transferring them onto paper—at first by hand, training my cursive handwriting, then on my father’s old typewriter, and finally onto the printed pages of the very first printer my family got. Naturally, this led me to academically pursue language and writing related fields.

I possess great love for languages and cultures, which is why the five years I spent in the foreign language high school of my town studying German, were nothing but notable for me. I then obtained a minor in modern languages and cultures with a focus in Spanish during my bachelor's. When I went on an unfortunately short-lived (damn Covid) Erasmus exchange to Budapest, I picked up Hungarian. I love traveling and exploring new places (and writing about it, of course!).

An alumna of the American University in Bulgaria, I graduated in 2022 with a double degree in journalism and mass communication and psychology. I was thriving during my journalism classes, as they allowed me to fully embrace my creativity and my passion for writing and telling stories.

I have been a huge football fan since 2014, and more specifically since the Football World Cup tournament in 2014 in Brazil, which lit up my passion for this sport. Throughout the past ten years, in both high school and university, I was debating on the path I should take career-wise, and everything pointed to the same field: sport journalism. Thus, in 2022 I moved to England for a year to pursue a Master’s degree in Sport Journalism, which I proudly obtained from the University of Brighton in 2023. During my master's, I interned for Sussex FA and Whitehawk FC in Brighton, where I was mainly engaged in marketing and communications. For Sussex FA, I would interview football coaches, and write up previews for the games I was attending. After the games, I wrote reports, including the most interesting moments and the scores. For Whitehawk, I have written a few match reports as well.

Throughout my life so far, I have engaged in diverse activities, thus enriching my overall experience. I have been a camp counselor and a camp leader respectively at a summer camp for teens aged 14-18, which strongly improved my organizational, leadership and pedagogical skills. An internship with FOUR PAWS Bulgaria saw me write an investigative article on illegal online dog sales. Additionally, I interned with the Alzheimer Bulgaria Association, providing oral translations for seminars on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. I participated in a conference that my university organized called “Fellowship of the Mind” with a paper titled “Journalism Deontology: The Case of Media Coverage of Incidents on the Football Pitch.”

Most recently, I returned to my alma mater, the American University in Bulgaria, where I have been working as an executive assistant to the President, and then to the Senior Vice President of Development. Previously, I also served as an administrative assistant in the Study Abroad office, an absolutely enriching experience that involved meeting and assisting students from around the world who came on exchange to my university. I am very grateful for these diverse experiences and for the opportunity to contribute to my alma mater in various ways.

However, as my life develops further, I want to pursue my dreams fully. I am currently seeking to enter the field of sports journalism, as that is my absolute dream sphere to work within. I am excited for what lies ahead and live life open to every opportunity that arises. I love meeting new people and forging new connections. I am always open to learning new things.
