Siobhán Soares Gannon

Siobhán Soares Gannon is a multimedia artist focused on film, photography, and screenwriting. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production Digital Art from Technological University Dublin. She is of Irish/Brazilian decent, currently based in Berlin. She has a passion for traveling and has spent time studying in Hamburg, Germany. She spent six years learning German. She also spent time in Porto, Portugal teaching herself Portuguese. She takes pride in her Irish heritage and is fluent in Gaeilge also, spending 14 years in a Gaelscoil.

She has worked on multiple projects in varying capacities over the years. She has worked behind and in front of the camera. Working on editing, producing, and filming for various college and personal projects. She helped to plan, organize, and coordinate them. She enjoys creating original concepts and watching them come to fruition. For several years she also spent time in the Gaiety School of acting. She starred in several original plays with them. She also did some acting and voice acting work for college projects. Notably, playing a character called Stacia Doyle in the play Portio Caughlan by author Marina Carr. It was adapted into an audio play as part of a thesis project she was delighted to take part in.

During the lead up to her year’s graduation show, she was in charge of social media promotion. She worked with fellow classmates on promoting people’s work on various platforms such as TikTok and Instagram in order to get more traction for the show. She collected photos and filmed peoples work, editing them to create footage to promote the show.

Studying abroad in Hamburg helped her make many international friends that she has since collaborated with on various projects. She has worked on music videos and developed short films with her fellow classmates. She worked with a Persian artist to create a music video for his original song. She helped produce a short film with her Mexican classmate exploring the issues of late stage capitalism. She also has worked on photoshoots with said classmate, creating concepts and modelling in order to create the shoot they desired.

She enjoys meeting people from around the globe who gives different perspectives on life. She also loves learning about other cultures, especially in regards to food. Much of her time in Berlin is spent trying all the different international cuisines the city has to offer.

She has a passion for set design and styling. On her personal photoshoots she has collaborated with other artists to design creative sets to showcase the atmosphere she wanted to invoke. She enjoys creating characters through costumes and takes pride in her work. She focuses on portrait photography, encapsulating people as characters she believes are interesting and eye catching.

She enjoys LGBTQ+ nightlife and helps organize parties in Berlin. She has taken part in several FLINTA events in the city. Creating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment is her top priority. She believes it is important for everyone to have fun in a healthy and safe manner, without fear of harassment or discrimination.

She loves to explore the world of cinema and television. Following the latest trending tv shows and studying the ever evolving world of cinema. She has collaborated with other artists in putting their vision on screen. She has a passion for screen writing and has developed several screenplays. She is currently working on developing one of her screenplays into a short film. She will be producing and directing it. She is excited to undertake this endeavour.
