Darling, I’m a nightmare dressing like a daydream. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, specifically in La Boca, which is the most beautiful in the world. I’ve wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and I have a serious reading problem.
I studied sociology at the University of Buenos Aires, where I entered at 18 and never left. My degree taught me to think critically, and more than a discipline, I learned a way of seeing the world.
I worked for 10 years in the Academic Affairs Office, 10 intense years during which I learned a lot, especially how to generate information for decision-making. In 2023, I resigned from that position seeking new, more flexible, and dynamic ways of working.
I specialize in teaching social sciences in higher education, but I teach at all educational levels. It's interesting because I work in diverse scenarios: massive courses, very small groups, and individual classes. I am an assistant professor at the University of Buenos Aires and a professor at the most prestigious foreign language teacher training college in the country (Juan R. Fernández). In 2024, I started working as an online reading and English Art and Literature tutor for children and teenagers in schools in the United States. Reading helps us think and develop empathy, a central feeling for facing the individualistic world we live in, so I am very happy to teach reading to the youngest.
My areas of interest are human rights, political violence processes, and the social construction of collective memory. I am interested in thinking about how we talk about violence in society and how societies talk about the most traumatic episodes of their past. I am also interested in education, educational policy, and new teaching practices. In 2024, I completed my first postgraduate degree in education. My goal is to continue my postgrad studies, someday become a PhD, and teach in the faculty where I studied.
I would like to be a book editor if I weren't a sociologist. My favorite authors are Jonathan Safran Foer, Michel Houellebecq, Eduardo Halfon, and Jeffrey Eugenides. Literature occupies an essential place in my life; being a reader is a central part of my identity.
I live in Buenos Aires with my husband and our two cats. I love going to the cinema on Sunday mornings; I'm a huge fan of Boca Juniors and Star Wars. I try to read 40 books a year, and generally, I succeed. I always laugh in the most solemn moments.
