“From where I stand, I see artists as troubled old souls, always trying to say something, to communicate a message that’s trapped in the confines of their existence. A message is so intense and so pure that simple sentences are not enough to convey its essence. And for me, that’s art. The embodiment of a feeling, a message conveyed through brush strokes, poetic metaphors, lyrics, frequencies, and comparisons to nature. And above all, the beauty of this message lies in the act of passing it on to others.

To be able to feel something and convey it, in any form or shape, and to be able to make others recognize and understand that feeling, is an artistic masterpiece.”

She hails from a small city in India, the land of diversity, although for her, it has always been the land of legends. A land with the history of kingdoms, wars, and poets. Having had the privilege to be born into a culture so rich and colorful, the world, in her eyes, was always a journey to be experienced. That’s how it all began—the story of Ridhi, an artist, a creator, and above all, a dreamer.

One can already recognise her penchant for living life as if it were a poem. Her journey has been a tapestry woven with threads of science and art, stitched together by the influence of her grandfather, a commercial artist whom, although she never had the chance to meet, yet still, his legacy lives on in her passion for creativity and art. Even though Ridhi’s early education was rooted in science, it was her love for the arts that ultimately led her towards pursuing a career in fashion design.

Growing up in Jalandhar, her childhood was a playground of creative exploration. Drawing, painting, and sketching were her sanctuaries. The choice to study fashion was a natural progression for her, allowing her to transform her artistic visions into tangible creations. For Ridhi, fashion is not just the art of clothing design but also a medium to communicate and connect with like-minded souls, helping them express their unique identities.

After completing her secondary education in 2019, Ridhi moved to Berlin to pursue her dream of studying fashion design. The transition from a small town in India to the vibrant, diverse atmosphere of Berlin was a revelation. The city’s rich cultural tapestry broadened her horizons, introducing her to a plethora of new cultures and ideas. At university, Ridhi delved into sketching, sewing, and fashion management, continually seeking new experiences. She joined the university’s Buddy Program, assisting international students with administrative tasks and helping them acclimate to life in Germany. This role allowed her to foster connections and learn from diverse perspectives.

One of the most transformative experiences during her studies was Ridhi’s internship at Dawid Tomaszewski, a German couture label. Here, she was introduced to the intricacies of embellishments and fabric manipulation, translating designer ideas into prototypes and sketches. This hands-on experience gave Ridhi a profound understanding of the fashion industry’s demands and intricacies.

Additionally, working part-time as a fashion advisor at Roeckl, a German luxury brand, on Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s luxury fashion street, was an enriching experience for Ridhi. The hustle and elegance of Kurfürstendamm offered invaluable insights into high-end retail and customer service. Concurrently, she interned at the label Maximilian Gedra, contributing to their Berlin Fashion Week collection and assisting in show planning and organization. Recently, Ridhi embarked on a new adventure in photography at Studioline Photography, exploring a different facet of visual creativity while continuing freelance fashion projects to keep her design skills sharp.

Through her work, Ridhi aims to share her journey and knowledge, focusing on her three passions: Fashion, Culture, and Travel. Fashion has been a continuous journey of discovery for her, and she’s eager to share her insights, experiences and views on the aspects of the Industry. Growing up in India, a country rich in culture, Ridhi has always found inspiration in its diverse traditions. Her cultural heritage often informs her creative work, providing a subtle backdrop to her designs. Travel fuels Ridhi’s creativity, offering endless possibilities for exploration and learning. Each new place she visits becomes a source of inspiration, adding depth and dimension to her work. Hard work and dedication have always been Ridhi’s guiding principles. At the end of her senior secondary education, she was honored with the “Best Student of the Year” award, a testament to her commitment to excellence. In Berlin, she received the “DAAD Scholarship for dedicated students” for her efforts during her Bachelor’s degree. She graduated with honors and received the “Year’s Best” award from her university. Ridhi continues to pursue knowledge and improve her skills to broaden her horizons.

At her core, Ridhi is a dreamer, viewing the world through a lens of creativity and wonder, far from the constraints of practicality and logic.
