Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Cushla has spent most of her adult life traveling and living abroad. Upon completing high school, she quickly relocated to Melbourne, Australia, where she called home for seven years. She dived into a career in banking with experience gained in multiple roles, ranging from client servicing, administration, and as a transaction specialist.

Craving variance in her routine, she enrolled into a radio course with the idea that she would indulge in her interest for music as a side hobby. This is where she learnt how to write advertisements for radio - and discovered she had quite a knack for it.

She expanded her writing skills with a professional certificate in advertising, and began copywriting alongside her full time job.

She kept at this routine for a few years, however, with her daily schedules filled to the brim, her inspiration began to dwindle as exhaustion started to take hold. She then decided to leave the banking industry, and put her career on hold.

She packed her bags and traveled through Turkey for one month. At just 22 years old, it was a journey like nothing she’s experienced before. Bitten by the travel bug, she was overwhelmed with the desire to discover more of the world.

In 2015, she left her home in Melbourne, and made her way to Europe.

Since then, she’s lived in Berlin and Edinburgh, but mostly in Amsterdam where she stayed for five years. She is now based in Zadar, Croatia.

During these years in Europe, she’s spent a majority of her time working within the broadcast media industry as a content reviewer and copy editor, while writing during her spare time; mostly for personal projects. She’s also consistent in assisting those in her network with various editing tasks, including the preparation of; business proposals, resumes, and creative writing pieces.

Her diverse career and lifestyle has provided her with a broad scope of awareness and an open-mind. Cushla has decided to further her interest in writing where she will create pieces relating to travel, societal constructs, entertainment (music and novels). She also plans on learning how to improve her creative writing skills, and further her career as a professional wordsmith.
