Waterhouse & Dodd are delighted to present an exhibition of paintings from private collections by the founders of Cubism and the Section d’Or.

While the exhibition includes examples by Picasso, Braque and Metzinger, the show focuses on the works of Albert Gleizes and Andre Lhote. The latter artist is represented by a group of ten paintings executed between 1916 and 1958. The centrepiece of the exhibition is a 6 foot tall masterpiece by Albert Gleizes, unrecorded and hitherto known only from sketches, that is directly comparable with the painting of the same year in the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, New York.

Other highlights of the exhibition include a painting from 1910 by the Russian artist Marie Vassilieff, one of a small group of highly collectible Cubist paintings she executed in Paris between 1908 and 1915.

The exhibition opens on 17th June and continues until 7th July. All works are for sale, at prices from £2,000 to £500,000.
