The capital of France has hosted the Olympic Games twice to date - in 1900 and 1924, and for the third time, the Olympic Games will come to Paris in the summer of 2024.
The games held 100 years ago in 1924 were significant for Estonia, as it was the first time we were represented at the world's largest sports event under the auspices of Estonian Olympic Committee. Thanks to the participation of the football team, the Estonian delegation was unusually large - 43 athletes traveled to Paris and returned with an impressive 6 Olympic medals!
The new exhibition at the Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum, titled Estonians in Paris 1924, provides an overview of the most recent Paris Games, the Estonians who participated, their stories, and examines how the Estonian national football team fared at the Olympics. At the exhibition, you have the opportunity to try out human foosball yourself!
