David Zwirner is pleased to present the work of Donald Judd and Yayoi Kusama in a two-artist booth at Frieze Art Fair New York (Booth C49). This is the gallery’s third consecutive year at this fair.
Judd Foundation (Rainer Judd and Flavin Judd, Co-Presidents) is exclusively represented by David Zwirner. In 2011 in New York, the gallery presented a selection of works by the artist drawn from his seminal 1989 exhibition held at the Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, Germany, and in 2013, a major installation by Judd was included in Dan Flavin and Donald Judd, the inaugural exhibition at David Zwirner’s new West 20th Street location. In 2013, the gallery’s London location presented the first significant exhibition of Judd's work in the UK since his 2004 retrospective at Tate Modern, London. Permanent installations of the artist’s work can be found at Judd Foundation spaces in New York City, at 101 Spring Street, and Marfa, Texas, along with the neighboring Chinati Foundation.
Kusama’s first exhibition at David Zwirner in New York (November – December 2013) attracted tens of thousands of visitors. The new catalogue, Yayoi Kusama: I Who Have Arrived In Heaven, will be published by the gallery later this season. Yayoi Kusama: Infinite Obsession recently closed at Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, Brasília and travels to Instituto Tomie Ohtake, São Paulo (May 21 – July 27) and Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City (September 25 – January 19, 2015).
