Rakursi Gallery has the pleasure to present the exhibition Amidst illusions by Chavdar Ghiuselev, March 11, through March 29, 2025. The paintings he shows were made in recent years and are in different stylistic and plastic directions, one might say “between the styles”. Work that slips between world cataclysms, everyday banality, creative desires and the metaphysics of the subconscious. Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov wrote that "Chavdar Ghiuselev's exhibitions are invitations to a passionate game with drawn figures and unwritten rules that you have to unravel yourself. In order to succeed, you have to get to the messages - on the border between feeling and foreboding, confidence and paradox, with which the artist loads his images".
Chavdar Ghiuselev's paintings resemble a puzzle that must be unraveled by the viewer, and as he likes to say - by himself.
The exhibition includes works that were made at the beginning of the war in Ukraine and were influenced by it. But life goes on between real nightmares, local paranoia and the artist's eternal desire for elevation.
