The group exhibition Pink and powerful at the Punto sull’arte Gallery celebrates being a woman on the day that symbolizes the strength of the female voice. The gallery's rooms are filled with previously unexhibited paintings and sculptures by thirteen female artists. The opening reception of the exhibition will be held on Saturday, March 8, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the main gallery of Punto Sull’Arte in Viale Sant’Antonio 59/61 in Varese (Casbeno). The exhibition is a unique opportunity to meet the artists and the curator Alessandra Redaelli.
A "pink" exhibition to talk about women. A pink that transcends clichés, chosen as a symbol of joy, sisterhood, unity, and female resilience. Thus, Punto Sull’Arte Gallery, a female-led reality founded and managed by Sofia Macchi, celebrates International Women’s Day with the desire to emphasize, thanks to the artistic curation of Alessandra Redaelli, how artists today can voice a gentle yet relentless femininity, woven with the rich tradition of female artists that have paved the way for them and on which they have been trained.
The multicolored poetry of Annalù captivates us with the beauty of her Dreamcatchers, resinglass sculptures that mesmerize viewers with hypnotic vortices and spiral patterns. Meanwhile, Claudia Giraudo, who paints in oil on canvas, chooses the figure of the lamb as a symbol of the blood sacrifice of femicide victims. Ilaria Del Monte creates paintings with mystical significance, crafting spaces where the dialogue among women transforms into magic and enchantment. Alice Zanin invites us to participate in the flight of her floating birds, lightweight sculptures made of papier-mâché, remarkably true to the original. The works of Lara Martinato, through the use of gold leaf and the portrayal of the powerful and iconic figure of the samurai woman (contrasting the traditional submissiveness of the geisha), initiate a dialogue between painting, iconography, and mysticism.
Sabrina Milazzo's reinterpretation of Disney characters, executed strictly in oil on canvas, and Valentina Diena's exploration of overtourism, created with colored pencils on paper, both reference the influences of pop culture. Despite their different approaches, both excel in attention to hyper-realistic details. Then there is Valeria Vaccaro, who, with her white Carrara marble pencils titled Supermina, invites women to rewrite their destinies: in pink. Next are the works of Marika Vicari, graphite-drawn forests on wood enhanced by watercolor, transforming into emotional landscapes. Valentina Ceci, with her faithful ballpoint pen, immerses one of her architectural pieces in pink, pulling it away from the coldness of design and plunging it into a dream. While Silvia Levenson warns us that toxic love can take the shape of two boxing gloves, expertly crafted in concrete, Lene Kilde brings us back to our lost childhood with her concrete girls, metal wire, and "air". Finally, the curvilinear and sinuous marble sculpture by Jill Höjeberg narrates the female body and its power to give life.
The thirteen artists of Pink and powerful enchant us by telling reality through the eyes of "she", with works that challenge not only our perception but also our social constructs.
