From March 26, 2024 to Oct. 31, 2025, Igor Mitoraj's largest open-air sculptural exhibition, titled Lo sguardo, humanitas, physis, is hosted in Sicily. Thirty monumental works by the Polish artist will be exhibited in the fascinating spaces of the Neapolis Archaeological Area in Syracuse, enhanced by two impressive sculptures in Ortigia and Etna Park.
This extraordinary exhibition will offer the public an opportunity to immerse themselves in Igor Mitoraj's creative universe while exploring places steeped in history and beauty. The opening event with a theatrical-musical performance will be held on April 16 at the Neapolis archaeological area.
The project is promoted by the Archaeological Park of Syracuse Eloro Villa del Tellaro and Akrai, produced by Atelier Mitoraj, in collaboration with Mediatica and Tate, under the patronage of the Igor Mitoraj Museum, the Sicilian Region, Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity, Department of Land and Environment, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Etna Park, the State Forestry Department, the Municipality of Ragalna and the Municipality of Syracuse.
