Featuring over 60 unique and original Andy Warhol photographic works, the exhibition entitled L’Oeil de Warhol, will present an array of images taken by the artist during the period 1971 until just prior to his death in 1987.
In particular, the works include numerous images taken from the artist’s frequent visits to Paris, where he maintained an apartment on the rue du Cherche-Midi in the 6th arrondissement. Warhol’s life in Paris was highlighted through friendships with designers Hubert de Givenchy and Yves Saint-Laurent, model and actress Carole Bouquet, designer Andree Putman, nightclub impresario Regine, along with images of notable Parisian landmarks.
The exhibition will also include images from Warhol’s seaside life in Montauk, New York where he maintained an estate called Eothen, a former fishing compound atop a cliY overlooking the Atlantic Ocean where he frequently hosted notable guests such as Mick Jagger, Bianca Jagger, Caroline Radziwill (sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis), Peter Beard, and Halston.
