From 21 to 23 March 2025, Spark Art Fair Vienna will bring together international galleries and artists at Vienna's Marx Halle, featuring even more digital art, exciting collaborations and an expanded ‘Honorary Board’.
With around 90 solo installations, the fourth edition of Spark Art Fair Vienna will continue to focus on its globally unique concept: Equal exhibition space for all participating artists ensuring a democratic approach to contemporary art. This clear focus on individual artists makes Spark Art Fair the central platform for current and emerging voices in the art world.
New developments and focal points in 2025
Digital art is set to play an even more important role at Spark in 2025. Already this year, we were able to see a range of exciting digital works at the fair, including pieces by Refik Anadol, Tim Berresheim and Signe Pierce. In our 2025 event, more emphasis will be placed on the digital world. In addition to this, interactive ‘digital activations’ and participatory performances are due to take place in the Globe Theatre at Vienna's Marx Halle. These immersive art experiences will be accompanied by panels and events. As in 2024, there will once again be a curated film programme and talks by prominent panellists on current topics from the art world.
An experience curated by a team of distinguished experts
The experienced curatorial team, consisting of Christoph Doswald (Zurich), Jan Gustav Fiedler (Berlin/Vienna), Marina Fokidis (Athens) and Walter Seidl (Vienna), have invited galleries from five continents to showcase a variety of artistic perspectives in Vienna. The programme will not only feature well-known artists, but also exciting new arrivals, representing the broad spectrum of contemporary art.
The concept of the fair transforms the individual sections available to the artists and visitors into 90 solo exhibitions, brought together within the unique architecture of the Marx Halle. As a result of this unique concept, Spark Art Fair Vienna has established itself as a firm favourite for collectors, art institutions and art enthusiasts worldwide.
The extended ‘Honorary Board’ supports the curatorial team in an advisory capacity. This is made up of representatives of leading international galleries, institutions and collectors. Current members are the galleries Fonti (Naples) represented by Giangi Fonti, Konrad Fischer (Berlin/Düsseldorf) represented by Claudia Pasko, Nächst St. Stephan (Vienna) represented by Rosemarie Schwarzwälder, W&K (Vienna) represented by Lui Wienerroither, PSM (Berlin) represented by Sabine Schmidt, Dirimart (Istanbul) represented by Levent Özmen, Reservoir (Cape Town) represented by Shona van der Merve and Heinrich Groenewald, Kates Ferri Projects (New York) represented by Natalie Kates and Fabrizio Ferri, as well as the Viennese collector couple Kathrin Weber and Axel Anderl.
