Liminal Gallery are delighted to present I could watch you for hours by Carson Parkin-Fairley. The Cupboard will be transformed into a compact universe that evokes the dreamlike essence of 90s cartoons from the artists childhood. This installation pays homage to the captivating glow of television, immersing viewers in vibrant animated realms.

Featuring a meticulously crafted miniature living room, it invites the audience to shrink down and experience a surreal after-school reverie. Adorned with miniature neon paintings that celebrate influential childhood shows, the piece encourages viewers to peer inside and lose themselves in nostalgic contemplation.

The Cupboard is Liminal Gallery’s second exhibition space, tiny but sleek it is exclusively available to artists living and working in Thanet.

Carson Parkin-Fairley is a multidisciplinary artist who explores worship, celebration, joy and storytelling through her practice. Her work is inspired by religious iconography, shrines, cartoons and popular culture.

She studied Art Foundation at Camberwell, and worked in various industries before re-finding her true essence in art. She was raised by artists, Mother, Sophie Parkin and Grandmother, Molly Parkin. She is passionate about the connectivity that the arts can bring and hopes to share this creativity with others who may not have been exposed to it.

Though the smallest bricks-and-mortar contemporary gallery in the UK, Liminal Gallery challenges the status quo, presenting the diverse and resonant voices of today’s artists from across the UK and Ireland. While historically women and minorities have been wildly underrepresented in the art world, Liminal stands as proof that change is happening.

Liminal Gallery’s permanent home at 34 Fort Hill, Margate, opened on 1st October 2022 after operating digitally and nomadically since its inception in April 2021. Their second exhibition space, The Cupboard, opened in March 2023 which provides local artists with a 3 month residency to showcase a solo exhibition in a playful and quirky space. Liminal Gallery Podcast was also launched in October 2022, used as a tool to widen access globally to their artists and their practice.
