This third exploration of the collection of the Keller-Wedekind Foundation in the Museum Franz Gertsch’s Cabinet is dedicated to the still life genre.

With works by Stefan à Wengen, Maurice Ducret, Marc-Antoine Fehr, Bendicht Fivian, Gabriella Gerosa, Sylvia Hostettler, Zilla Leutenegger, Josef Felix Müller, Andrea Muheim, Andrés Fischer Muñoz, Kotscha Reist, Nadin Maria Rüfenacht, Shirana Shahbazi, and Uwe Wittwer

The selection of paintings, works on paper, photographs, and videos sheds light on the artistic representation of inanimate objects such as flowers, books, pieces of fruit, (dead) animals, glass vessels, musical instruments, as well as their thematic and symbolic significance.

Established in 1994, the Keller-Wedekind Foundation (KWS) purchases artworks for the KWS collection on an annual basis and awards the KWS Art Prize every two years. To date, the collection comprises over 350 paintings, works on paper, prints, photographs, videos, and sculptures. The artworks date from the 1980s to today and mainly include representations of landscapes and figures, views of cities, architecture, and interiors, as well as still lifes.

The show was curated by Anna Wesle.
