Links is a group exhibition of 9 emerging artist from Japan, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea. Having studied at Cheslea College of Art & Design design and Central St Martins, with artworks ranging from installations, photography, video and performance, we consider how artworks get involved with the audience. Yejin Eom : Korean artist, studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design. She explores the invisible energy (ki- energy) within our universe, based upon the Chinese philosophy ' Yin and Yang and 5 Elements'. Yejin creates her own invisible energy forces in her works, which absorb her own emotions and agony throughout te production process, by endlessly repeating the same action over and over again.
Florence Lam : Born in Hong Kong and studying Fine Art at Central St Martins. She explores the relationship between time, reality and illusion. Her works are mostly time-based where audiences are invited to witness the constant deterioration of material as a performance. She places herself in a position where she is in control of the presentation while simultaneously being completely out of control of how the material performs, therefore creating an illusion of familiar intimacy, exposing the life within the materials as they interact with the audience.
Miju Lim : Korean artist, studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design. She explores the sexual desires which are covered up by modern society. Her works aim to disclose these hidden desires in an unconscious state of her own, within the questions of fundamental human instinct.
Ao Chen Li : Taiwanese artist, studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design. She is interested in a wide range of themes relating to human emotion, body and memory. She believes the intuitively interaction of colour and shape are the significant elements in her creativity.
Venice Wanakornkul : Thai artist studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design. She creates simple works of art with everyday materials from toilet paper to running machines to explores her own theory of life and the relationships of human beings.
Joice Cheung : Hong Kong artist studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
Rosalyn Ng : Hong Kong artist studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
Yuki Kobayashi : Japanese artist studying Fine Art at Central St Martins.
Yuting Sun : Chinese artist studying Fine Art at Central St Martins.
The private view of the show will be on Saturday 8th of March at 6pm.
