Sicardi Gallery is pleased to present El Cuerpo Sutil, an exhibition of recent work by Miguel Ángel Rojas and John Sparagana. The show brings together two textile-based installations by Rojas, with Sparagana's hand-fatigued, sliced, painted, and re-mixed media images. Both artists probe the depths of political unrest, the hidden narratives behind objects and images, and the points at which empathy and perception connect. Rojas and Sparagana will be present at the opening reception, from 6-8 pm, Friday, January 17 and at a book signing at 11 am on Saturday, January 18.
Miguel Angel Rojas is a conceptual and multimedia artist based in Bogotá. His work has been shown internationally, and is represented in the collections of the Tate Modern, London; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and the Daros Latinamerica Collection, Zürich; among others.
