From November 2013 til January 2014, Herald St, London are showing a group exhibition of works by Lucas Arruda, Antoine Catala, Dan Graham, Robert & Trix Haussmann, Bernard Piffaretti, Vanessa Safavi, and Michael Wilkinson.
Lucas Arruda was born in 1983 in Brazil. He lives and works in Sao Paulo. He graduated from Faculdade Santa Marcelina, Sao Paulo in 2009. Recent solo shows include Mendes Wood, Sao Paulo, 2012 / 2010, Centro Cultural Sao Paulo, 2011. Recent group shows include Museo del Barrio, New York, 2013; H. M. Antoine Catala was born in 1975 in Toulouse, France. He lives and works in New York. Antoine Catala holds a BA from London Guildhall University, 2002. Dan Graham was born in 1942 in Urbana, Illinois. He lives and works in New York. Dan Graham has had retrospective exhibitions at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, 2009; Museu Serralves, Porto, Portugal, 2001; Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, 1997; Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, 1993 and The Renaissance Society, University of Chicago, 1981 among others. His work has appeared in numerous international exhibitions, recent venues include the Turner Contemporary, Kent, 2013; the Espace d’Art Contemporain et Musee des Beaux-Arts, La Rochelle, 2011 and CCA Kitakyushu, 2010. He has participated in Documenta V (1972), VI (1977), VII (1982), IX (1992), and X (1997) and has been the recipient of numerous awards.
Robert & Trix Haussmann . Robert Haussmann was born in 1931 in Switzerland. Trix Haussmann was born in 1933 in Switzerland. Robert and Trix Haussmann both have roots in modern architecture. Robert Haussmann studied in Zurich and Amsterdam and Trix Haussmann at the ETH in Zurich. Since 1967 they have headed their own architectural practice and design studio. Their most highly acclaimed design projects include the Kronenhalle Bar (Robert Haussmann, 1965) and the underground shopping precinct at Zurich’s main station. Forthcoming solo shows include Fri Art - Centre d’Art de Fribourg, 2014. Recent solo shows include Hard Hat, Geneva, 2013 and Studiolo, Zürich, 2012. They also showed in Postmodernism. Bernard Piffaretti was born in 1955 in Saint-Etienne, France. He lives and works in Paris. Bernard Piffaretti graduated from Beaux-Arts de Saint-Etienne in 1979.
