Ahmed Al- Bahrani's (Babylon, Iraq b. 1965) occupies a distinguished position among the work of Arab contemporary sculptors. The figurative oeuvre that will be presented in this show has an overpowering aesthetical discourse with a humanistic output of universal implication; this new series stands against the war and gun violence, making a breakthrough in contemporary art. His realistic images are portraits of political, religious and pop personalities, among others, carrying all type of armaments.
Al- Bahrani's with his repertoire of large-scale sculptures creates a state of affairs in receptors contrary to what they're comfortable with, by interacting conventional and unconventional symbols. The artist creates a powerful connotation that deeply touches the set of shared beliefs, ideas and moral attitudes that operate as a unifying force within society.
